Posted April 29, 200519 yr Cuz 80% of patients r elderly they're obviously the ppl i see/hear most and one thing i always notice is how polite most of them are compared to the ppl between 20-40, for me its a classic example of todays society they're always apologising for things too, like if they want a drink, their sorry that they're thirsty lol phrases i often hear r, "much obliged" "thank you kindly" (that 1 reminds me of due south if any1 used to watch it ) etc random i know but im so bored at work with only an ipod as entertainment lol Edited April 29, 200519 yr by Scotteh
April 29, 200519 yr Hey same here too. I work in a hospital too. They are very polite and very kind, where as the younger kind are more towards, things like, "where is this ward?" I say "Go here", they say "ok". They dont bother to say thanks or anything. Funny things ai, But on the other hand I cannot stand getting behind a group of elderly people walking at .000002 mph. Its a funny environment. Alan
April 29, 200519 yr I always make sure i say my thank yous and pleases (unless the person im taking to is an utter kn0bhead)

April 29, 200519 yr im really good when i go to hospital, i always say please and thank you and i smile all the time any way, i also like to chat to whoever is with me coz it makes the environment nicer to be in and takes my mind off of whats going on. hey then i get my tea and toast quicker
April 29, 200519 yr Is a shame todays society is like that and makes me wonder what the next generation will be like! I am always polite (unless someone cuts me up lol) and I will always teach George to do the same! When I was pregnant...an elderly lady got on a full bus...not one of the children offered to stand so she could have the seat. Although I was pregnant, I still gave my seat up for her. I think I am one of the very people I went to school with that were polite! I wouldhold doors open for anyone and smile....it was a rare occurence if I got the same in return It makes 200% more difference if people have manners!
April 29, 200519 yr my nans in a private hospital at the momment after having a new shoulder and she keeps saying sorry to the nurses after pressing her button thats linked to the office, even though thats what the nurses and the button are there to do!!!!
April 29, 200519 yr well said scott, so many rude annoying people these days. I hope I am as polite to people as I possibly can be

April 29, 200519 yr allway polite, even when people are antoagonistick (how do you spell that?) but i agree older people tend to be much more polite i cant see how nayone can do some of the things they do to old people, like rip em off or mug them. I just couldnt live with myself?
April 29, 200519 yr i can agree with the view about being courteous only to those that treat you the same. I have to be polite at my work if I'm on the phone, but in the construction industry you get some right pricks around, you just say yes this, yes that then when you put the phone down call them pricks and that!
