so i been waiting for this day to come for about a month now !!

i been here browsing all the question about running 18" wheels

everyone had sad that theres no prob on the front end but the rear may need arches rolled .

so f*ck was i amased when the wheels fitted perfect on the rear ! 8o

but the front thats a different story , it is was way to close the arches

even whitout it getting lowered to the max .

im running 7,5*18 whit 215/40 tyres

so il guess im gonna get tho get in to some real modifications on the front arches

:curse: :curse: :censored: :curse:

so c'mon you out there let me now how you solved it out

i think the Et is 40

ET40 is ok.

The 215/40 profile tyre is not!!!!!! 35 profile will be fine. Did you have a choice of tyre profile?

about the tire heres how it is!

i really wanted the 35s but decided to go for the 40 tire becuase

after all this is my family car and ididnt want it to get to bumpy for my kids

but then i decided that im gonna roll the arches in both front and rear

so im gonnna make a tool for that today 8)

hopping it will solve the problem i really want to lower it hard

now it looks like a bus :curse:

the correct offset for a 18" wheel with a 40 profile tyre to have a correct scrub circle is about 20mm offset!!!

this is impossible as the arches will foul big style.

all i can say is it will drive like a pig and you will have excessive inside tyre wear on the front.

but it will look better.

best comprimise is 17" with 35mm offset and 204/40/17 tyres as its not too far out on the mk5/6

the correct offset for a 18" wheel with a 40 profile tyre to have a correct scrub circle is about 20mm offset!!!

this is impossible as the arches will foul big style.

Indeed, which is why most people just give up using full lock
