are thay reliable cars and if something gose wrong are thay exspensive to get fixed. i.e if the turbo went or there most offen problams?

in standard form there good reliable cars, but start ficking with them diy style and yr gunna turn a goodun into a money pit, don't forget the last ons built are now 14 years old so gunna need money spenton them at sum point
if looked after, they're as reliable as any other car of the same age. if your after getting one, look on the enthusiasts sites as here is were the best ones live. most will be well looked after and tuned by proffesionals (sp) :thumb:

I looked at a 26k, H plate totally standard one yesterday, still on original rear tyres, old bloke hadit since new!!

 

Bloke want 7k though!!

good if your mechanically sympathetic. But theyre old, theyre ford, so you have to expect somethign to go wrong. Headgaskets, turbos and gearboxes i think are the most prown but im not an expert

Had mine since October time, guess was a lucky find as didn't pay that much for it, its had no welding, doesn't smoke or tap, only bad bodywork is surface rust under the front bumper and stone chipped door mirrors. Before I started using it daily for work it would stand all week not used and fire up without problem. Maybe this one been looked after in the past, but fingers crossed no problem at all

I've had a couple of RS's in the past and have had to eventually replace gearboxes, engines, turbo's etc, so I'd say they're a bit of a minefield now, but find a low milage minter and you can't go far wrong, if you can find one...... small money pit if you ask me and thats just the everyday running costs.

The CVH's are so easy to work on though, don't think the parts are too expensive compared to other performance cars

they are so much fun :P and looked after i think theyre great. you just got to be sympathetic and budget for stuff going wrong. I.e. you'll know that if you boot it everywhere you'll know you have to budget for a gearbox, if your a boost junkie and just resist cranking it up you'll budget for engine, if the turbos smokey budget for that........
thats my next big mod i reckon... a new gearbox ;(
