Any tips on washing a car?

This may sound stupid but i have no idea how to do it properly and how to wax the car to a professional finish.

Im getting pretty good on the interior, but its just the bodywork that i need help with.

This may sound stupid but is there a guide with step by step anywhere on the net? lol i sounds like a right fool asking this but oh well!!!

I usually use the local jetwash Dan, does a good job and a lot easier and quicker as well m8 ;)

simple

just use all Meguiar's Gold Class stuff, such a piece of P155 to use, it makes car washing a doddle

Do most people use a good old fashioned bucket and sponge??

Or do people use like these kits you can get for your hosepipe??

I usually:

Soak the entire car in water

Connect my brush attachment and fill with turtle wash car wash stuff

Brush down the car

Rinse with hosepipe and "clean" water

Is that like totally the idiots way to do it lol?

I tried using a leather chamois to dry but they dont do sh*t!! Also do you have to be quick when drying the car?

soap up the car

Hose it all off

soap it up again

hose it off again

chamois it thoroughly

Put it back in the garage

do all your glass first, then the roof then work your way round and then use a seperate sponge for your wheels :thumb:

Sounds simple enough and should work a treat.

Hmmm no as for polishing/waxing whatever you want to call it, how often should this be done and whats the best way because i have an electronic buffer thing in the garage.

So doing each side one at a time is wrong then :O lol

I usually do each side seperately and go from top to bottom
