Posted May 4, 200519 yr I should hopefully get a new alternator some time this week and just wondered if there is anything else that is likely to need changing at the same time or if there is anything i need to be careful of when taking old one off and replacing it? Already changed it once with a last minute alternator from breakers but ever since it has made a terrible noise, so im hoping its just the alternator doing it and problem solved with a nice new one. I would never but owt connect with electrics and that second hand <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had no choice but to buy from scrappys, i wouldnt have normally but since the car had broken down on dodgy part of the link road with no way of getting it on a tow and lorries zooming past, the scrappy for a quick fix had to be done, also local ford didnt have it stocked but could get one the following day which was no good at the time.

That reminds me, have to pay attention to how the belt fixes back on as it slipped off when changing the alternator and not having the manual in the car i just guessed how it went back on, lol.
