Posted May 23, 200519 yr Well for me it is anyway.... Dropped my car off at APT's today at 1 and by 3 o'clock i'd already had an update from Christian who told me the head was fine, no damage at all, which he was suprised about considering i'd done 70 miles with the engine not running right and the only damage was the, and i quote, "totally mullered" headgasket, which being a Felpro one, was totally shite. He's got to order some new parts, such as Cambelt, some gaskets and some new headbolts as the ones i got from ford were the wrong ones before he can rebuild it. Tops of pistons are fine which considering they have been running with more boost then recommended since it was first built, upto 3 times as much at times, is quite astonoshing but as Christian said, it proves how great the engine really is and how well it has been bolted together, just let down by using a shitty headgsket All going well, It should rebuilt by Weds and back in my possesion by the weekend. Well chuffed Edited May 23, 200519 yr by Rob84
May 23, 200519 yr Author would have thought it'd been built with better parts in the first place <{POST_SNAPBACK}> me too lee but now its got a WRC spec jobbie in it should be well upto the task now
May 23, 200519 yr Good news indeed!! Hear a lot of problem with Felpro head gaskets! Meant to be much better than standard too, aren't they!?

Meant to be much better than standard too, aren't they!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> supposedly, but not Standard ford ones are more then adequate. the one thats going in a multi-layer, WRC spec one. Ian Howell only ever uses Ford headgaskets, even on his 500+bhp builds
