Hi all was just wondering wots the difference between the Escort 1.8 LX and the Si? Engine wise and interior! thanks

nicer seats and trim, higher spec, but not much else

identical engines (well 1.6 LX same as 1.6 Si and 1.8 LX same as 1.8 Si)

Which has the higher spec LX or si??

I supose its gona be Si but ive seen LX s about with loads of extras. Maybe they were added extras specified at purchase??

si is higher spec, i believe

si comes with everything standard i think

whereas most things on an LX will probaly be an optional extra :thumb:

Glad there aint a difference in the engine spec lol! I did ask in Fords by me but the bloke i talk 2 couldnt tell me lol! n i looked in "What Car" book n it gave me 4 specs the rs2k gti and one that was unlabeled with 103-113 bhp! wernt sure so thought id better ask! :D
You can still get a 105 or 115 spec 1.8 in either i think.

Its usually on a sticker on the air filter.

great lol gotta find that now lol i replaced it with a K&N Cone filter :)

Most of the later LX models come with aircon, dual airbags, rear head rests and stupid headlight adjustment... LOL With the Si you do get nicer wing back seats... Its all swings and roundabouts.. There isn't much in it.. There are loads out there and so take a look at either and get one which has what you want.

:) :) :)

Speaking of 1.6 specs, how come some models are 88bhp and some are 90bhp?? any little tweaks to get it the same?

they're not. they're all 90PS (metric) which is 88bhp in old money :thumb:
