Posted May 27, 200519 yr I have the dark grey plastic bumpers fitted to my Mk5b. Does anyone know what colour closely matches these, or wheather there is a paint code for the colour of these plastic bumpers. I will be needing to spray my new front bumper the dark grey colour, so I don't have to do the back bumper and lower sides of the car too.
May 29, 200519 yr mate, if your going to be spraying it yourself, make sure you use flexi primer and flexi paint and lacquer or it will crack and peel off after a couple of days. best off getting someone who has done it many times before to do it.
May 29, 200519 yr if you have to spray them anyway why not just colour code them to match your car? looks heaps better when it's done
May 29, 200519 yr From the sound of it, it sounds like he has the two tone style car, with the bottom of the sides matching the bumpers. If the sides and bumpers arent painted and are plasitc (i cant remember wether the bottom of the doors are plastic!) just give them a good coating of back to black
May 30, 200519 yr Author Yes, I have the two tone colour. The bottom of the doors are not plastic, but the paint has translucent grey mixed in with it, to make it harder. I mixed some up at my old work. The grey down the sides are a slighter lighter grey than the plastic bumpers. I took the paint cards out to my car and ran each one over the bumper to try and find a match, only one came close so I mixed some up. It still came out slightly lighter, not a perfect match. If anyone else knows of a code that looks like it will match the bumpers spot on, I would love to know it. It will be to spray a whole new front bumper, that I am going to put on.
June 5, 200519 yr The inside of it don't look the same at the moment though... (stole a pic off chappers computer lol)

June 6, 200519 yr even on black cars? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was waiting for that they must still be BODY COLOURED black, not a gay black EDIT: and the same texture Edited June 6, 200519 yr by Mike C
June 8, 200519 yr even on black cars? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was waiting for that they must still be BODY COLOURED black, not a gay black EDIT: and the same texture<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Im leaving mine the black plastic, just use nice coatings of back-to-black every now and again. Im not going to waste money on getting them painted the same colour if sometime in (albiet distant) future i want a kit!
