Lets start with the good:

My tight schedule works and I pick the car up. It's rapid 8) 8) 8)

Enjoy fucky house choons, window down, and 4 good cylinders all the way home :D

Get home, and my coilovers have turned up about 5 days early....... :O

Thought I was gonna have to wait til I arrive home from Florida (week on Sunday) before I opened them....... so things are going well, a bit too well.

I was meant to phone the ins co. (CIS) while at work, but just didnt get time, mad rush!

Anyway, 2 weeks ago they said it'll be an extra £200 and will be classified as an imported Ford with an IG off 11, same as the mondeo.

They confirmed it would be saved on the system so it would be no hassle when I wanted to go ahead.....

Now:

I need an engineers report (to what extent, they can't tell me)

It will be reviewed by the underwriters which may take a couple of weeks (past renewal date!)

They can't quote me until this is done......

And now I have a 2.0 escort sat on my driveway.....

I'd use it if it was my own insurance, but it's my Dads and he'd go mad if he found out I drove it insured as a 1.6

And it's now 5pm on a friday and I fly out to Florida tomorrow.

Needless to say, Kent meet tonight and Santa Pod are therefore a no-go for me ;(

Anyone up for getting drunk tonight??

bad news that mate

CIS have never been the best insurance company to deal with, think i'll have to change from CIS to someone else soon

Not worth taking the risk driving un-insured though

things that seem to good to be true, probably are :(

LOL..... forgot to mention, my manual rev limiter of 5k rpm wasn't working very well.....
personally i think your a muppet for telling your insurance company. I've had my fair share of incidents, and never have i had an engineer take the engine apart down to the bottom end just to make sure i hadn't increased the cylindrical capacity. I think your wasting your time and money.

Insurance is in my Dads name.

I would still have told them.... it's only a 2L mondy engine, it's nothing brutal likes Harvez's!!!!

I'd be paranoid about some dumb bitch crashing into my ass and writing it off, more than me crashing it, cos I can't do SFA about the former.

Sorry to hear that m8, bloody typical tho isnt it. Even worse by the fact that all the wrks been dne already and that ur goin florida 2moz. Hpe u get it sorted. :thumb:
if your insurance is nearlly up ralph just wait till you renew, such a shame tho :(

Mate's just txt me to say that it wasn't smoking or owt when I was booting it, which is good to hear...... looks like I'll have to get some nitrous action going. :drunk: 8)

ill warn u now, avoid the temtation to boot it or if u r go an get a PBV fitted an then sell it on when u got a ecu or chip sorted. it runs lean an ive had mine tested. ull go through head gaskets an pink it if your not careful. my pbv sorted fueling out till 5k revs now.......just a warning, take it or leave it :)
