What is the best way to go about making a false floor for the boot which is easily removable? or does it have to be bolted down anywhere.

 

Need info asap as I would like to finish my boot off this week once and for all

 

I was actually thinking about this a while ago. Just an idea but i thought that bonnet pins might work! Plus they will look pretty good

If its a good fit then gravity works, or sticky back velcro!

Cut it to the exact dimensions of the boot, and it wont need anything to stick down and stay there .

When I tried this before i couldnt get the board in though as the gap was too small.

 

Velcro souds like a good idea but more suggestions welcome

Or you can do what i did, and cut it about 3-4mm out and the pack it out with some small wooden wedges.

cut the wood to shape, then cut it directly down the middle to get one side in first, then the other! then cover it how u like! thats wat we did with mine. makes it so much easier mate.

I still like my bonnet pin idea

screw it in and make a hinge door for access, can still be removed easily too

 

ive actually built a full frame the size of the boot out of 2" timber, then just drill a couple holes in it then youve got space for all your wiring etc, and more amps if needed

that's exactly what I've done, and raised it for ample room for the wires etc

The false floor i have fits perfectly and doesnt need holding down with anything. Just make it a perfect fit.

or sod the spare wheel, and have a box that fits the maximum width in the boot, then the box dont move anyway. ans instead of a spare wheel carry a can or tyreweld... lol
