Recently sold my fiesta to buy a xr3i, i had some mods on my fiesta but now want some mods to my xr3i! what works well for more Bhp?

Oh yer forgot to mention its a 1989 and its done 100,000 miles with 1 owner and full service history at the same garage! with 100,000 miles onit isit worth payin £500 and having a complete new reconditiond engine put in and the start modding?

RST engine, it will fit straight in. leave the body standard. XR3i with a kick.

Thats not a bad idea! you need to uprate anything? and isit ok with the xr3i ECU and wiring loom? U know a company that will do it for me? in the northwest area?

hiya.

 

right, rst engine will drop in no probs as its still a 1.6cvh. you will need the gearbox and LSD from the RST. the power will shread the XR3i one or damage it slowly.

 

the loom might be ok. not too sure on that. but i think you will definatly need the RST ECU.

 

no ideo of anywhere that will do it. depends it u want to just fit an engine or have one built and fitted.

 

it ur gona buy an engine on say EBAY, then any garage should have the ability to do it.

 

but it u want the engine tuned up to 240bhp, it will need to built and mapped on a rolling road.

 

think i'm right on most of that.

ok ill speak to some garages but duno what they will say and depends on how much itl set me back lol!! if i cant doit what can i get out of the xr3i? although the RSt idea is a good one just need to speak to garages in the manchester area!!

pricy when that go wrong tho.

 

on the XR3i, well cam, K & N panal filter, powerflow exhaust, with decat or sport cat.

 

dont know what else really. performace wise with pretty nippy anyways. I loved my Oroin 1.6i ghia (same 105 bhp engine)

 

bodywise, well RST arches and spoiler looks great. whats colour your 3i?

its a lovely black no rust realy smart, i think ill have to wait out for the rst engine! im just warey the engine has done 100,000k so wondering if it will be ok to moddify!!! errrm also stoopid question how will i know what mark itis 3? 4? its 1989!

Oh yer and sorry but looking at parts to buy some listed for efi engine and others for mfi!! so confusing whats the diffrence and how do i know what mine is! thanks for all this your helping me loads

i never got to tinker with my orion. just taught my self to drive with it on private land. had to jump start it all the time tho.

 

but i did get good at wheel spinning in reverse! ooo and flicking the back end out.

 

i miss that car it was great, abs, heated front screen, central locking. had remote but didnt work.

how do i tell if its efi mike? oh anybody know the max bhp you can get out of one. i believe the EFI givs you 108bhp but i mean fully moded what can you get out ofit! thats if anybody knows

look unde the bonnet, does it say EFi on the Manifold? SHOULD be definitely being a 1989

 

as for power, u won't get much more than 120 reliably

 

they're rapid for what they are anyway, just poor handlers, lol
