Rob84 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Firstly, this IS a genuine question and not an attempt to start that farce we saw earlier this afternoon. As both polls showed the majority of us wanted another room added to the list, is this going to happen? to re-iterate, please anyone, dont start or drag anything else up from the previous threads
Mike C Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 as a SERIOUS and GENUINE response, be realistic, look in the main message board, 90% on the threads on page one would end up in this "New" room, so what is the point? the main message board is a pretty random place on here, only very few threads in this part of the forum are really car-related. A cut down on posts that are totally random and an end to "conflict" and it will (as it always has) work perfectly my 2p
Rob84 Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 i appreciate and understand that Mike, but I was thinking about it earlier thats all as the general consenus (sp) was that another room was wanted, to see if it was going to be added thats all
Mike C Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 that is fair, but I was just stating my opinion when my mood wasn't under the influence of other factors. Just thought I'd make a better effort to explain why I was one of those not in favour of such a move
tidykart Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Just do it, it's what the people asked for, that's the whole point of a poll so do it then we can but the issue to bed, and no more arguing.

McRic Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but then that would'nt please everyone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> thats life is it not
Rob84 Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but then that would'nt please everyone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> thats life is it not <{POST_SNAPBACK}> true ric, but if (and yeah, its a big "if") its a possibilty, its worth trying to achieve imo
bluliz Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 How about getting the chat room working? its not on the board so certain people wont moan, but unlike msn most people should be able to get it at work. everyones a winner
Mike C Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 personally, I think an extra moderator and the instant removal of any threads that are a 100% random thread look at the "which is faster" thread. Look at that "random" thread from today. It makes EVO look messy no matter what forum it is in I think 90+% of people agreed that when Ian tinkered with the boards to merge the modifications and problems sections together, made one forum for photoshopping/testing etc, that the "less-is-more" approach to forums was the way to go We don't need an "Escort Chat" and a "General Chat" forum like some boards do. Cos all the Escort Chat should be covered by the technical/trading/pictures sections. Most other things can go in spotted or shunts all other topics are very generalised and usually either related to motoring in general or just even more general things and have always managed to live every happily together in the main message board. Seperating them would be a backward step IMO cos it would be look seperating the problems and modifications sections back into 2, which would lead to the need for increased moderation, more vigilance etc and would make the forum far more messy
tidykart Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 How about getting the chat room working? its not on the board so certain people wont moan, but unlike msn most people should be able to get it at work. everyones a winner<{POST_SNAPBACK}> All ya gota do is try, completly agree. Ye agree with ya Rob, in a perfect world it would be best to agree with everyone, but be realistic mate, on here or any forum to be honest it would never happen. The majority want it (I don't even want it-to be honest) but the majority do, so just implement it for a bit see what happens, Ian or Stoo can always remove it- what's the harm in it. I know I wouldn't use the new room, but other members will- but that's perfectly fine. Come Ian or Stoo what ya gota say?
Mike C Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 another point I forgot to make Forums like that, attract people like this: Clicky
McRic Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 the chatroom has been the best idea yet, its been a wasted function for far too long. It does still work does it not it aint been removed anyway
McRic Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 EDIT: I'll take that back the chatroom link leads to no where As far as I'm concerned why do a poll if you aint gonna follow the demands of the people using the forums ( not a dig at anyone btw )
Rob84 Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 As the thread starter, can I ask for this to be left now until Ian or Stoo see's it and answers it?? If people want to carry on the discussion, can they please start another thread
