Kirsty Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Whats everyones opinions on Drifting as a sport???? Looks fun
stuball Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Looks cool but as for calling it a sport? Nah! All a lot of hype for something people do in car parks every weekend
Ex-Finesse Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I think there's a difference between drifting and just getting the ass end out on a RWD car.... I'd love to have a go. Anyone know if you can go on drifting "experiences" like Rally or skidpan courses...?
Russ_Zetec Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I'd love to see u fwd guys get in a rwd car with 200+bhp and give it a go!! i can freely say doing it on a track like brands which isnt flat is the scariest thing ive ever done especially coming upto druids bends at 80mph and flicking the car the wrong way in a 2ton for capri really does let you know that you are on the edge of control and could die easily lol but yeah i havent had an adrenaline rush like it !!! i salute anyone who can hold a bit of opposite lock for more than 20metres without doing full circle or running out of adrenaline and realising they are insane

And the way all the magazines jump on the hype bandwagon about drifting Pees me off!
marsbar1973 Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I have a mini clip of the japs drifting on my mobile. Excellent stuff!

Kirsty Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 Try drifting in one of our cars for just £25 for a 10 minute introductory lesson. You'll learn how to get the car sideways and keep it there through left and right corners with a tricky transition between the bends. An experienced instructor will be with you giving you tuition and encouragement the whole time. Before each session, an instructor will talk through the theory using video demonstrations and diagrams of the course. oooooooh that sounds fun!!! 10 mins will be more than enough for me!!!! the thought of going sideways scares the fcuk out of me still
Russ_Zetec Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Clickie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Honestly that took about 8 seconds for that reply!!! i can say the £25 quid is very well spent!! but time in the car goes sodding quick...
Scotteh Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 drifting properly takes some skill but tbh...i really DONT see the point in it as a "sport" all it is is a rwd car getting its arse end out lol, drifting round a track is different but agen...i only see the point wen its racing. just costs a lot of money for summit which really doesnt have much use lol
Kirsty Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 £25 fuckin' quid!!?! Bargain! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anyone fancy an Evo day out
AutomodellistaGT Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 i know they do it at brands hatch ? i like watching the stuff from japan, because its very fast and awesome i agree sometimes it looks like its just a carpark at the weekend with kids in it
foxdie Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I went to a couple of meets with: http://www.driftuk.co.uk when i had the mr2. Its quite easy to do, but near impossible to perfect. The mr2 wasn't the greatest car for drifting too.
