M4TT Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 seeing as ive been off yesterday and today and nothing todo i thought i'd just go out for a bike ride, my first for about a year. its amazing what you miss when your driving, i go down the same roads day in day out and seen Shite loads of stuff never seen before lol it was all well and good, worked some musles as well cos im knackered now lol but some drivers are blind as fcuk and lorrys dont give you enough space, even when going through central crossings they zoom by and dont give you space. no wonder people dont want to use bikes to offen as your more than likely to end up hit or dead. o and broke the speed limit on my bike 32mph on the flat lol
greeneyes25 Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Bike rides are great fun, i agree with lorrys and bad car drivers, some are awful. the only thing that stops me doing it more often is the sore arse afterwards!
K3V HA Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Agree with you M4tt, us drivers are w4nkers when it comes to cyclists, my dad does about 150 mile a week, and has loads of close shaves due to useless fcukin drivers!!
DJC Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I'm quite lucky because I live about 2 minutes away from the sustrans coast to coast cycle route so I don't have to worry about crapbag motorists, although I still haven't got round to doing the full thing yet.
85rob Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 (edited) i aint been on a bike for about 4 years now, would like to do trail (xc/ downhill) riding again but cant be assed to spend 400/500 on a decent hardtail Edited September 9, 2005 by 85rob
stuball Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I bike to work every day (5 miles) along one of Aberdeens busiest roads and the amount of red light jumpers and near misses from people coming beside me too close is unreal. And that's with cycle lanes!! No matter how bad the cars are tho the bus drivers are a million times worse
Scotteh Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 i dont mind cyclists on cycle paths etc but in the city on the road their a danger to themselves...run red lights and everything thinking they dont apply to them and then they wonder y they have near misses wudnt mind going on a bike ride round some of the country areas round here

I hate it when they swerve out to the middle of the lane, or some fat old woman takes up the whole lane and goes at 3 mph. Bikes should be kept on the path

marsbar1973 Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Going out today, we saw a monkey in a van open his door straight onto a cyclist. The driver had the nerve to shout at the cyclist when it was his bloody fault. Gyppo's!
