jdmsport Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 As above if you want power get an Import wrx 280bhp as standard + they are not tacky like the english ones inside. The Import also has its down side the different fuel which eventually will make the engine blow unless you get the ECU re mapped
Scotteh Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 The Import also has its down side the different fuel which eventually will make the engine blow unless you get the ECU re mapped<{POST_SNAPBACK}> imports just use higher octane fuel, so u use optimax or ultimate to stop ur engine detonating and fking up the pistons etc, to really give it the best u need to use octane booster as well, but thats another 7 quid each time u fill up so it wont blow up unless u get ur ecu remapped lol, it will blow up if u dont use the higher ron fuels unless the scoobys use a special fuel i dont know about?

Unless getting them remapped to run less advance, they melt pistons, all jap cars do it, just some are more likely to do it then others because they run more boost. one of the reasons why imprezas are known to have choclate pistons is because, a) they run more boost then most japense cars, b) the turbo is tucked right in the corner, as is number three piston, c) bacuase of having a top mount intercooler, the charge temperature can get very high very quickly, and if teh ecu cant keep up to retard the igniton or limit boost, detonation occurs.
