Devboy Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Hey! I have just brought a 110W car buffer, i am just wondering what to use with it? i would like to make my car shine and try and more as many little scratches as possible!
bluliz Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 not sure what to use, but DON'T use the secret sauce from a Big Mac, as it strips paint.

Ex-Finesse Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Don't use anything more abrasive than T-cut with a polisher, otherwise you'll wear the paint down very quickly! I only use my polisher to buff over the surface after polishing.
Devboy Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 so you think, i should polish the car first then go over it with the buffer?
Prostheta Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Clean all traces of wax, sap, insects, mud and mineral deposits off the car. That means *all*. Give the car a good T-cutting but bear in mind that it is *still* an abrasive and will eventually wear your paint through to the tarmac given enough effort and a couple of years. Seriously though - if you have any scratches you can "feel" with your nail (not *a* nail) then use a scratch remover. T-Cut scratch remover works a treat. Then use T-Cut over the rest of the car. Wash wash wash wash your car until all traces of T-Cut are removed. Shampoo, chamois and wax!! I've found that light regular care works so much better, and is easier than infrequent washing and polishing. Avoid automatic car washes!!!! Wash your chamois and car cleaning cloths regularly!!!! Remove any grit and dust from your paint before you wash it by hand!!!!

Then polish. Buff off after if you can be bothered, it's not going to noticeably affect it
