AutomodellistaGT Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 when loading the bios on one machine, it says "boot from CD" then says "disk read error: press CTL + ALT + DEL to restart" any help?
AutomodellistaGT Posted September 14, 2005 Author Posted September 14, 2005 ive told to boot from HDD but it still says disk read error
Scotteh Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 go into bios, choose the hdd as primary boot device and in the boot order make sure hdd is first and not the cd/dvd drive, if it still does it odds r ur windows is either fucked or ur hardware is lol
Al Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 If you don't mind me poaching I have a PC problem too, when i boot up all is as normal and desk top appears but sometimes when i then click internet explorer the homepage will not appear and the PC seems to be idle.I then press control Alt and delete to see what is running and notice the 'CPU' usage which shows 100% , why is this?? Any ideas? If i wait long enough the homepage does eventually appear? All is then well. The same happens if i click outlook express too. .Oh i'm running windows XP on an AMD 64 Athlon 3400+ with NTL Braod band 2meg connection. This only happens now and then, but always at the wrong time.
