Foxy Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 House is valued at £40k erm... that dont say how much poll tax i'm going to pay though? thanks for your help anyway You'll have to contact your local authority to find out the amount of council tax payable on properties in your 'band.' Every area charges different amounts. Penny
E56 ORT Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 House is valued at £40k £40k!!!!!! You can just about buy a garage for that much down South!
geordie_aaron Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 lol thats not what its worth, there was confusion £40k would get me a VERY VERY poor area house lol one i WAS going to buy is £132k
DJC Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Alright mate.My flat is classed as band A and I pay just over £60 a month. Don't think there will be much difference between South Tyneside and Durham pricing bands. For your gas and electric, do you just want the cheapest you can get, or do you want a company with good customer service too?Let me know cos I work within the complaints area of the industry.
geordie_aaron Posted September 16, 2005 Author Posted September 16, 2005 (edited) Nice1 cheers, as for as gas/lecy company, i want cheap as possible, not too bothered about customer service, but if sumits broke, i want it fixed Edited September 16, 2005 by geordie_aaron
DJC Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Scottish Power or Atlantic are going to be the best bet for you mate.EDF do work out slightly cheaper, but have a bad reputation within the industry.
bexyboo1312 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 powergen if you combine both gas and leccy can set it up all online too the valuation for council tax was done years ago, thats why it shows as only £40k
Mk6 Si Ross Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 the valuation for council tax was done years ago, thats why it shows as only £40k its also up for a big re-jig but they're about to announce next week that they're now gonna put it all on hold for a while. were gonna re-value the bands to current house prices
