Engine stalls...

Hi everyone i've got a problem with my GTi, when im driving say in 2nd gear and hold the revs to over 4k then brake hard, when im almost at a stop and dip the clutch the revs fall and the engine dies instead of idling. This also happens at a stand still and i just rev the car, anything under 4k seems to be ok but over 4k and the engine will stall........

 

I've already tried changing the lambda sensor and airflow sensor - no joy and when the car is idling the revs stay pretty constant at about 800 so i dont think its the ICV.............

 

 

Anyone have any ideas...???

could still be the ICV, might just be a grim case.. my car used to do that..

 

have you got any mods like 130 cams TB etc ? cos mine used to stall on tickover with these , fixed it by fitting a 2.0 ecu.

I've got a 2.0 TB on it but it did this before i fitted that aswell.........
