rocksta Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 hi i only have one pre out and want to have two amps can it be done? i know i can sort the power lead n remote lead its just the phono lead im unsure of? i should imagine it can be done cause i have seen some installs with way more than four or five amps? any info on how to wire it up would be great
sortedford Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 you just et some RCA splitters they look like a Y piece, at the worst i think halfords sell them
stoo2000 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 yup its how im having mine 4 amps, on unfortunatly one pre-out, i have a converter too to convert normal output to RCA but i think they are a bit poo
Bennys_Si Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 You can do it one of two ways. If you are running two amps for the same purpose, i.e for subs, then just use the output of the first amp. if you are looking to use one for stereo and one for mono, then you might need to use the Y piece assaid before, then use the output of the stereo amp.
ryanrs Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 i would have fort using a 1 into 2 splitter for the RCA would damage the headunit, as it would double the impedance, and cook the internal pre-amplifyer... the internal pre-amps get fooookin hot as it is! i would say best bet is to buy an Amp with an Aux Pre out feature... alpine uses this on most of theres, means you can daisy chain as many amps as you want by connecting them amp to amp.... keeps the quailty of the sound good too. then with alpine you can get one of thoes remote digital amp controlers, that can control upto 8 amps (iirc) ...
