avi to DVD

I could google this and I probably will, but want some advice off you lot first

 

I've got five episodes of Lost Season II that I wanna burn to DVD (so it can be played in a DVD player, not as a DVD data disc)

 

so what is the best software to do this?

 

and lol, I'm not being funny, but can you not humour me with what you think MIGHT work
