JonC
Aight i got my new wheels last friday I drive every night on the motorway approx 80 miles to work and drive home at 4am all motorway and flat out most of the way... the thing is my car running the standard ford alloys managed 130mph with ease and 140mph with the wind behind it... now with 17"s on im struggling to get 120mph.. has anyone else noticed the same effect why is this ? bigger wheels = incorrect speedo reading?bigger wheels harder to turn for engine = less speedwheels are heavier = less speed? is there a fix lol other than the obvious changing back to 15"s or getting more power? oh and if your just gonna mutter on about it being reckless doing that kind of speed blah blah blah shut the feck up cos its wasted ... :upyours: If im not scared, im not driving fast enough... oh and i also got beaten in a race last night by a pug 306 and from the black smoke puffing out of the back of it i would say it was a turbo diesel.....fu*kin pissed me off

Lee R
You were probably expecting me or Ross to reply in detail to this All i'm gonna say is this, i'd imagine you are between 17-20 Jon?? If not, I stand corrected. I was exactly the same then, and had some scary near death experiences. I ain't saying I drive like a saint now , cos I don't, (I still have my mad moments, Ross will tell ya!!) I just think about what i'm doing a bit more, maybe more so because I'm a Dad too. Just take care, i'd hate to see a fellow Escort nut kill himself in a moment of madness.

GrahamOliver
Contrary to the fact you don't want people to flame you for your speeding... I just hope you strictly keep your speeding to the early hours of the morning where you are less likely to endanger innocent road users. I also hope there's a traffic cop stood over a bridge sometime with a radar gun and camera. At those kinda speeds, you might as well not bother with a seatbelt either.
