can you give me a msg on aol - Pelles5

or msn - wull_is_sexy@hotmail.com (just use msn to speak to my gf :P )

got a few questions regarding what my bodyshop has told me about a chemical reaction which my paint works doing, the bodyshops clueless to whats happening, basicially hes saying several small patches over the car probably 2 inches by 2, the paints scrunching up (chemical reaction) he said its basicially like theres oil under the car, he said it isn't fisheyes (or something, when little holes go on the paint work or something silly) the cars now on its 2nd respray and he said it isn't the primer making the reaction otherwise the whole car would react to it.....anyone know?

the guy said he aint seen anything like it, and the paint support people don't know anything about it, what he is going to do tho is rub the parts down to the metal, coat it with 2-3 coats in primer and re-paint it, if that doesn't fix it then he doesn't know what will....

drop us a msg ill explain more in greater detail, if anyone knows why or a cure i can phone up the bodyshop and kid on im being smart :) and hopefully give the guy a little help so i can get my car tomorrow! if he can't resolve this today then no car for me tomorrow :(

nah man, i didn't polish the car once i bought it (bought it in april, cars now getting painted in december) but maybe the previous owner polished it before i got it as it did look a bit shiney when i went to view it....anyhow if it is, ill guess that it wont survive this time, the guys gonna rub the parts down to the bare metal of the car....doubt any substances will survive....

something on the front wings is reacting with the paint, its been scrubbed down and re-painted roughly 5 times, and each time it gets worse and worse, it can't be the primer reacting with the paint otherwise the whole car would have had it, koni's guess is that since its the wing, near the engine bay, some wd40 or oil has been on the wing, or some sort of chemical thats in the metal is creating a reaction between the paint, which is making the paint scrunch up in an effect when its in its drying process......and since its after 6pm on a saturday, the paintshop is shut, so we can't get the proper formula to sort it until monday

the rest of the car is fine.....

I still reckon it's bad prep work, although the bodyshop will say otherwise. If it was rubbed down correctly in the first place it wouldn't of happened. Al. ;)

but its now on its 6th time of doing it.....can't be bad prep work if its been painted 6 times.......the car started to get painted like 2wks ago, and every day since its been finished the front wings have been tried to be fix.
