F1ACK
Top marks to my car, its just been one of those days on the roads today, just got in from a mates house, driving along happily when, oh sh!t the roads gone, HUGE FLOOD!!! ploughed into it at 20mph, top marks for the bumper not falling off, water up over the bonnet, bash as my front number plate flys off and hits my windscreen, water was solidly over the bonnet for 50m at least, in 1st gear reving the bollox off it to keep her going!!! then the rubber grommit in the passenger footwell (the one you put wires through to the engine) gave way and water poored into the footwell and up the passenger seat, THANK GOD I didn't have the playstation in the car at the time!!! 30 seconds later out the other side, rather wet and steamy but engine still running (if a little lumpy) but running fine. Just looked at the damage, not a lot really, the number plate was ripped off, and one of the fog lights has stopped working, the passenger side of the car is flooded and a side repeaters been ripped out oh and the batterys soaked with all the electrics and fuses and the engines all clean now Just glad it didn't stall in the middle of it, off to halfords tomorrow then for a new number plate  I bet I get pulled by the old bill as well! :upyours:

Pelles
would have been a nightmare if u lost the engine in the middle mate... happened my mate in the november floods in scotland, new passat 2.0l, seen a little puddle on the road, on a corner, so he hammered it probably about 40-50 thru it, turned the corner, then noticed it wasn't no small puddle anymore, the water flooded the engine as fast as he could blink, and the car came to a hault in the middle, but no water got inside the car, although the watter was higher than the door seals, so he couldn't get out, he was sitting in this puddle for like 40 minutes before the car would start again...i found it rather hillarious, as at the time, he didn't have the insurance for it and was shittin it that the cops came lol. hes 18, and drives his dads passat. F1ACK
yeah looks like I was bloody lucky, just got a call off my mate, he's got a pretty new fiesta ZETEC S 1.6 and he went through the same flood 20 mins after me last night but his car got water in the engine or something and blew the top off of it, NASTY. My mats still against a radiator and drying well but the inside of the car has puddles in it not sure how I'm gonna dry that out, my head unit controller is under the passenger seat, luckily that didn't get too wet  As for the engine, thats running fine, no problems at'll

Rich
When me old astra flooded last xmas i used a vacum cleaner that has built in washing capabilities, it sucks the water out of the carpet basically, like a vax machine. Just dont forget to lift the carpets out and dry underneath um Then just get some heat in the car and it should be fine
Jordan
Nasty mate, where was that? Anywhere local? Ive been caught out down Stoneham Lane before when the river floods, not as bad as you tho mate! Jordan
F1ACK
thats the one m8, stoneham lane.My m8 pointed out last night that one of my head lights was half filled with water, spent over 4 hours last night first trying to get the unit out, gave up on that as would have to take the bumper off, then tried taking the glass component out, gave up on that as it wouldn't move more than a couple of CM then I went to a steap hill (up near Jordan) took the bulb out and booted it up it, that got some of the water out, then went home used nearly 100 cotton buds to soak it up, put an old bulb in and finnaly steamed the rest off. Just seen my m8s festa, its blown a hole the size of my head in the side of his engine, the ironic thing he had an induction kit on till 2 days before which took air from the top of the engine, to replaced it with the old one as the car wasn't running too good and the old one took it from the wing I think Off to get a new plate today, paid for by the people who make the sticky pads then got to pull the carpet out and dry underneth and get the repeater back on the side and it will all be sorted, I'm amazed I've been driving around with no front number plate for 3 days now and haven't been pulled once :]

F1ACK
lol yeah, I'm supprised they didn't close it, I'm gonna try and get some money out of them but doubt I will Just been down halfords and picked up a nice shiny new plate, with 3D lettering (legal) and a GB badge and a border, some sticky pads all paid for by the sticky pad people, thank you very much They even let me in they're fitting bay to put it on, so I took the Pee and nicked some super glue and stuck my side repeater back on, and one of the chaps got me a metre of tubing so I could move my brether filter to the front of the engine, much easier working in a dry garage than in the cold wet outside
