gregors
Hi all, On the xr3i, at the back of the block is a oil pressure sender switch. Now the place it screws into has cracked off and is pissin oil. I have replaced the bolt and tightened it but in the past it has been cross threaded so it still leaks oil. Is there a product out there i can use to put on the bolt or around the area that will create a seal so that no oil will escape? Many thanks

Devboy
that might just melt. There is some stuff you can get that you put on your head when pulling a new rocker cover seal on. Can't remeber what it is called now but thats what u can use heh.
Jonnyuk
Why dont you try re-tapping it or drill and tap it out to a larger size?
gregors
it is like a nipple coming out and half of it snapped off so no chance of tap and dicing it out. Tried gasket sealant universal blue i think, didnt work so i looked around the garage for some stuff i could use and im 99% sure iv done it now. the solution SILOCON SEALNT
Chris_Uk
Make sure its industrial silicone or the oil will just eat it. I'd be tempted to use epoxy resin or that gum which turns to metal.
