I just purchased a set of 17cm components for the rear of my car. already got them in the front and decided they sound far better than Shite 6x9's. I wanted to mounld the speakers into the rear quarter pieces that the parcel shelf sits on and was wondering if anyone had any tips. Thinking iof using fibreglass so i can mount the wookers at an angle with the tweeters next to them. Any advice or guides would be very welcome.

do you mean covering the existing holes and then fabricating a mould for the speakers???

going to be abit tricky to fill a hole that big then have it support weight....albeit fibreglass...

Perhaps give it some support from the underside from a few lengths of wood? i duno how to tackle this one?!

good luck

I just mean to bring the hole down to a 17cm hole and maybe raise it slightly so that the speaker can sit toward the passengers. I know its only the woofer but justt thought it'd look good.

You reckon its a bit too tricky to tackle??

Why not get a set of autoleads speaker adaptors?
i was thinking about doin this, only i was gonna make a parcel shelf that the speakers could sit on facing forwards and in,as at the sides of shelf there aint enough room to fit a 17cm speaker, itll have to be on the shelf. 4x6 speakers could be put at the sides and tilted in,but 6x9s are a squeeze and a hald but they can go in flatways

didn't really want the speaker adaptors to be honest. Want the speakers on show. Might do what you say with the parcel shelf though. Sounds like a good idea instead of havin the 6x9's.
