Chappers Posted April 23, 2006 Share Posted April 23, 2006 (edited) I set off at about 06:45, having woken up to find it had rained and being quite annoyed, arrived around 7:15 at the meet point, slightly confused having seen only 2 fords all the way down, and arriving to the sight of only Stoo! Mcdonalds breakfast took about an hour to get for some reason, the damn girl kept taking everyone's money but not giving any food back! We all then set off from the meet point at around 8:20 and had a brilliant convoy to the show... I followed Stoo who was driving his Manta which seemed to make a strange grinding noise all the way there, and joined him in a bit of roundabout drifting Once we arrived, we parked in a suitable stylish fashion and out came my bucket, sponge and 12 litres of water (here's 6 i made earlier) and i washed the entire bottom half of the car along with the wheels. Well worth it IMO, will be doing it every show from now on, because the car looked fantastic all day long. Had a look round the show, some cool cars there, the usual really and then went to the grandstands for a bit of action. The announcer seemed to be running out of things to say at one point, so much so that he read out his phone number and asked for messages from the crowd. We had to oblige, obviously, and so a few minutes later an announcement was made:-"Announcement! The FEOC-Uk (extra emphasis on the dash) website has been moved to www.meatspin.com. Please tell everyone!" Brilliant. That was followed by some Jet Car action, which again i have on video but my phone is being a pain in the arse and not letting me get it, so will upload later, and then lunch and general wandering. We had another general browse round the trade stands and the cars we'd missed in the morning and then stood aroung a while, chatting and messing about with the cars. I left around 14:30/14:45 so i don't know if i missed anything, and i probably forgot to tell you about something anyway so i'll let some other people chat now........ EDIT: b*stards! Didn't surprise me the amount of Fords breaking down on the strip though Good day out, but was sooo tired for most of it, so wasn't quite as eventful as I was hoping cos I was walking round like a zombie lol. Good tocatch up with people and see and hear about new things from over the winter and in the pipeline. FPMSL at the announcement Loved being overtaken by about 10 cars on the A45 just ashame i didnt have my camera too hand. Few pics Ian sporting another clubs name Is this true?
