Posted April 29, 200618 yr hi guyive had a idle problem for ages and spend loads of money at a ford garage to the tune of £500 which they wont give back and still cant repair my car.i have cleaned the idle control valve but no change.went to a different ford garage and they sugested unpluging the PCM.i did this and at the mo the problem is solved.just wanted to know what the PCM does if anyone can help thanx ryan

I don't think i have ever herd of that. its called a power control module thats in the panel in the footwellIf you talking about the small black box on the left hand side ( passenger side ) footwell, ... its not a PCM, its a FCOS Fuel Cut off Switch It activates when you are involved in a sharp shunt, or a major accident. Fuel Cut off Switch It activates when you are involved in a sharp shunt, or a major accident.
