Okie!

My friend has just brought a 1.6 RS Turbo Fiesta.

And when she goes up hills it likes to get so hot the car bubles water and steam out of the header tank.

I have replaced the thermostat and the fan is working. someone said head gasket however, there not water in the oil etc and the oil top seems fine plus the car is fine on striaghts :S.

The car is only running 1/2 bar out of 3bar and we know we need to set the bar upto about 1.5 so do you think because the boost is too low it could be causing the problem?

id say headgasket too mate

dont need oil to be in the water n that before its gone :(

hold the rad pipe see if theres any bubbles, or if its too hot to touch its deffo gone

normaly too hot to touch! but the temp sensor only says like inbetween normal.
if its too hot to touch it sounds like the head gasket then

yer id agree, had the same prob on my rs turbo,

turned out to be the headgasket gave up!

a shitty Felpro one, get the standard ford one made by Payen i think :)

easy job to do yaself really :D

Ya, I think I will offer to do it for her. really unlucky as she jsut brought it and paid £1800.00 And I'm finding constant problems.

You wouldn't beleive how botched a car could be.

best bet is get a compression test done before ripping stuff out

as for setting it to 1.5 bar...you do know thats over 20 psi ?
