Well, as i said i would be doing the conversion on Saturday, and i did :D

First up was to take a pic just to remind me what was there in the first place :P

As you can see, they are rather small and apart from not being very good, they also look silly behind the 17's

To make them fit, you will have to grind about 4-5mm off the mounting face on the carrier but make sure this is straight and flat or the pads wont be making flat contact with the disc. I done it with a grinder a bit at a time until you have the desired clearence then cleaned the face up by hand file to make sure it was flat

Next up was to drill out the hubs as the old carrier is held in place with m10 bolts and the new carriers take m12's. I used a die grinder but a suitable drill bit will do the same.

Then i got some M12 bolts and bolted the carrier up to see how much needed to be removed from the bolt as it only needs to be long enough to pass through the hubs and through the carrier and be flush with the front face of the hubs. :thumb:

Here you can see the finished carrier bolted up to the hub

Now its just as case of fitting the pads for that part of the job :thumb:

Next up was to do the brake pipes which is a simple job

I just used Mondeo pipes and they obviously bolt to the back of the calipers and conected to the steel pipe on the inner wing. I still have to remove the brackets from the Mondeo which i will do next week so i used c-clips bolted just under the steel pipes to fix for now but it worth doing this first if you are going to do this job so it will save you a bit of time :thumb:

So, with that sorted, now you just have to bleed the system and lower and go for a test drive :D

Heres the finished job and i can say the differance is night and day and well worth the time and trouble and looks a lot better behind the wheels :thumb:

Yup, mine are Cossie's which are the same. I also have rear discs, so you can imagine how well mine stops.

Great aren't they :D

Yes i know that but seeing as i had a pair V6 calipers sitting around in good nick i thought i would be rude not to find a home for them :thumb:

v6 mondeo calipers and carriers r same as all 4x4 cosworth front calipers, just depends on what discs u use for the hub offset dude, i had mondeo discs with washers behind now i have escort ones and then dont need washers, but didnt no i could use em at the time and mondeo discs were cheeper

Yes, Mondeo discs are deffo cheaper and still come in at 280mm. The mondeo v6 came with two caliper sizes to which mine were the large ones
