ok this one has got me confused, I've done many a headunit fitting and never came across this. I took out the standard headunit from my car and replaced it with my Kenwood mp3 player. The Kenwood is almost brand new and worked perfectly in my old car. When the stereo come on even with no volume whatsoever there is like a constant buzz comes from the back speakers, maybe not a buzz more of a hiss. The car has a 8 speaker Bose system in it and the only thing I can think of is theres an on board amp somewhere which is causing interfearance. Any ideas ? I'm thinking if I run all the speakers direct from my own amp then it would cut out this possible on board amp and cut out the hissing ?
you might need to get a special wiring harness for the bose system. It is like that in most audi's so I would think the same thing would be necessary for a bose system in a merc.

theres no adapter cable available mate. Just had my thoughts confirmed it does have a amp within the bose system. The only solution is to hard wire each speaker direct to my amp so looks like I've got a bit of work ahead of me :D

isnt there no pre in (phono sockets) on the bose amp??

if so does the headunit have pre out via same sockets??

hard wiring is ok but not good when you want to put it back together (did this with my fiesta lol)

careful wiring in 8 speakers, make sure you give the correct impediance so no to destroy the headunits built in amp :)
