Posted May 1, 200618 yr Right I bid on an item which had a start price of £60.00 and £15.00 delivery here is the item description this is an auction for my old sony cd changer unit n headunit both in gd condition sounds absolutely lovely had it from new which was £400 last january have it a bargin at no reserve or offer me £125 flat out n its yours advertised elsewhere to so i reserve the right to close at any point I bidded the £60.00 on it to try my luck as it seemed to be a good price, and i won the auction, I then messaged them asking for their address to send the cheque to pay for it to. I then receive this message back hi there i havent been online for a while i was meant to have canceled the auction as ive been offered £90 for it by a friend of mine which is a bit higher then what this auction has got to so im going to accept his offer. So i sent this reply The sale has already gone through so its basically a legal contract now. I sold an item which i paid £300 for on ebay for £102 but i still had to sell it at that price, the auction wasnt cancelled so is still binding. Its like if i had bid £200 for it then saying hi i dont want it anymore my mate from down the road is going to sell me the same item for £180, thanks anyway though. Im waiting for a reply to that. If they still say they arent going to sell it then does that mean i have no way of getting the item?
May 1, 200618 yr Author Does it look likely that I wont be getting the item then? I got the feeling from the seller that they want me to offer them £90 instead of the £60 i won it for. If everyone did this on ebay then the whole thing would collapse its ridiculous.
May 1, 200618 yr This is what the complaints section on ebay is for, doubt you will get what you bidded on as you cant force them, hopefully they will get java script:emoticon(a warning & forced of ebay if they continue
May 1, 200618 yr Your in the right it's HIS problem he didn't end early and he's (and you) have agreed a contract with ebay
May 1, 200618 yr Author Right my paypal doesnt work so i asked them if i can send a cheque as payment which they knew about before they made all this fuss. So the following happened-Ive basically told them that its not my fault they messed up, and that they should have put the reserve higher or put a buy it now at £125 and they said in response, fine ok then pay me the money now through paypal and i will send it first class recorded in the morning (thinking i will say i dont have paypal and cant pay it so i would look like an idiot). So i phoned one of my legendary mates and he paid the £75 using his paypal and i did a bank transfer to his account so he will be reimbursed in 2-3 days so we will be all square, so they have now received the payment, lets see what happens now  They were basically being really agressive and messaging me every 2 minutes saying where is the money? I need it now cos i want to buy something. Since ive sent them the message saying they should have the money theyve been quiet. To top it off theyve got an escort GTi lol, maybe theyre a member of evo, you never know..
May 1, 200618 yr Lets hope he sends the item then going to be tricky claiming it back if he doesnt as you have effectively got your mate to send it via paypal threfore not even linked to the item number.
May 1, 200618 yr Author He had access to my ebay account and so payed it through my ebay account on his paypal account, he said he had the item there and the seller and everything so he got it right.
May 1, 200618 yr Author Well its been payed for so im hoping i wont have to buy another headunit, I hope all these vigilante antics pay off
May 1, 200618 yr Far from vigilante, more like taking a big risk?Vigilante would be stuffing the cash in his mouth & demanding your item lol
May 1, 200618 yr If he doesn't send the item, you can always claim the money back thru PayPal. and the bidder always wins the Dispute. unless he can claim that he has sent it, supplied tracking number etc.. then it may take a little longer. But you won't be out of pocket with paypal. except for their damn fees.
May 1, 200618 yr Author They just asked for my address and have given me a positive feedback, its startin to look better guys
