Posted May 5, 200618 yr as i am just about to paint my new calipers rs2000 ones. do i do the following use a wire brush to get rid of the rust crap etcthen paint them with hammerite 3 times just doing this before i put em on the car
May 5, 200618 yr Do it properly. Grind back all of the old rust and deposited brake dust/shite until you have a smoothe clean surface. Prime it with heat resistant primer (Might of been etch primer, cant remember), and then paint with hammerite or 2pac. Will look 1000x better

May 7, 200618 yr Yep Hammerite's just fine! People used this before the fancy 20 quid a shot stuff that's around now, and it was never a problem. Long as you clean them up nicely they'll be fine !

May 10, 200618 yr yep, jack it up, put an axel stand under or the spare wheel, turn the wheel full lock so that you can see as much of the caliper as possible and then paint away. Make sure you haven't used the car just before (i.e. make sure the calipers are cold) and be really careful not to get any on the disc (just keep a bit of kitchen roll handy)
May 10, 200618 yr Author how long did it take for the coats and did u hav another car to use dave? mine should be on soon
