right as some of you know i have bought sean l's old white 3 door off him. we set off at 6.30 am (3 1/2 hour drive) to kent to pick it up. had a fun journey down there (went in cossy) had a play with a nutter in a bmw who was drivng it stupid but anyhow got there around 9.45 , sorted all money paperwork out etc went and taxed the car, he said hte trackign would need doing and to go to local quick fit so this was where we headed got back to seans and drove the car away, all was fine wish bone that had been replace was ok other that was suppose to be fine wasnt, felt like the car was on ice all the time any how this isnt a major problem as the entire car will be stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt (some parts will be for sale in classifieds ) any how got on the dual carrage way back got 12 miles down the road plodding along nicley at 75mph wehn the car went funny , we had a blow out , so jenny managed to somehow stop the car going out of control and bring it to a ncie stop on on the hard shoulder

as there was no jack in the car and the spare was a totally diff wheel /tyre we had to call the towman , waited 1 hour after he got here (they sent a transit) he realised there was nothing he could do bar call a flat bed to take us to local quick fit , waited another 1 hour and finally it arrived , thanks to the 2 guys who were spot on and helped us in every way they could , he said he would take us to nottingham but wasnt sure if we had full cover or not so couldnt brign us all the way back, anyway got new tyre from quick fit and told as we thought the other wish bone was fucked not the tracking, after this we carried on for another couple of miles but decided the car coudlnt dirve 200+ miles home in the state it was 30mph max round bends etc so we had to ring ralph :) talk about coming to the rescue ,

hes let us leave the car there till i can fix the wishbone next weekend or get a trailor to get the car home, he was even going to drop everything and sort it there and then after he popped out to pick a parcel up , but brother and hsio gf needed to get back as they had to go out .

anyhow it will be back here next weekend and major work will begin many thanks to ralph for all his help

Apologies again for the car honestly didnt know about the other wishbone and two different mechanics didnt pick up on it either, glad no one was hurt. Just came across the speedo bulbs for it completely forgot to put them back in. pm me ur address and il post them for you

Very nasty blowout, but I'm happy to help mate. Shame you guys had to get home otherwise I reckon we could have fixed it, as I have a couple of used, but not shagged, wishbones in the garage, if we needed them.

I looked at the car when you left, and it's evident the tyre blew out on the side which has a new wishbone!!! It's not down to the other one being shagged and throwing the alignment out. You can visibly see the alignment is out on that side.

I think getting the tracking re-done both sides would get the car home. If I worked closer to home, I'd try and get it to a garage for you some day before the weekend.

Jenny did very well to keep the car on the blackstuff!

I'm also very sorry that I couldn't accept the offer of a drive of her saff cos! Had to go for a haircut, and I was late! LOL! Next time, definitely :thumb: :D

It's a bit of a shame about the styling of some of the 'accessories' that will be finding there way in to/on to the car imo.  ;)
