Right, bought my 2.0L 10 days ago, and after numerous lies from the breakers (Who will remain nameless unless i dont get my money back, in which case i will name and shame them on every single internet forum) about when it was supposed to arrive, it finally arrived this morning.

So everything was well, didn't look too bad, a nice clean up and she would look lovely. Started work on it, noticed a crack exhaust manifold, not to worry I thought, I have a 4-2-1 so not really worried about that. While trying to take the flywheel off, we thought we would tip the engine on its side to try and stop it from spinning around when it pissed this everywhere:

Fucking great. So took the HT Leads out and there is shitloads of this in with the spark plugs. So the Headgasket must be knackered, great. The engine will be going back to the breakers, and I will be getting my money back (Whether they like it or not, as they supplied a 60 day guarantee). So there goes the small glimmer of hope of it being ready for FITP. Im so pissed it off its unbelievable.

Luckily enough I have managed to find another engine, 30k on the clock with a gearbox, and has already had quite a bit of work done to it by a reputable company.

Fingers crossed that isn't a heap of shite too  .

unlucky m8 :( hope u get ur cash back :thumb:
muzz, thats not from a head gasket, if the head gasket is gone all that shite will not be in with the spark plugs, it looks like it could be degreaser thats been in contact with water, the HT leads still let water in when washed, so im guessing that its been washed or sprayed, and thats what that stuff is
yea mate that aint the head gasket lol either the heads fooked or like said above

No no no !

Mine tipped about 2 litre of that oily, greasy runny white goo all over the pavement, i had my engine outside for 6 months through winter but water found its way in and mixed with the oil !

I think you will find its just been left out in the rain or carelessly pressure washed to remove excess grime rom it.

and if the head gasket had gone aint that a good thing in a way you xcould sort it and not have to worry about it lol let sface it u no no history of the engines so why not strip them and make them right. works out in the long run
