lumpy Posted July 11, 2006 Share Posted July 11, 2006 im not to clever wen it comes to engines but i have a few questions first is wen i start up car in morning to go to work nd pull away for about 5 to 10 mins the engine is really lumpy wat could this be ???done this since i brought the car.. also i went to my local cruise on saterday and i never race but i raced a bmw 318 and gave my car a bit of welly and since then my car is stalling now and again wen i pull up and stop or wen im just cruiseing along slowleyplz help me out its annoying i did beat the bmw anyway lol plz help regards Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fran Posted July 12, 2006 Share Posted July 12, 2006 There are many reasons that you could be having these problems! Its a FORD! One of the easiest things to do is to unplug your Air flow sensor (MAF) its the plug on top of the metal thing next to your airbox if you didn't know already. If it runs better with that unplugged then it is your MAF that is the problem and this is quite common on Escorts. If the car is stalling too, it could be a problem with your Idle control valve or a vacuum pipe come loose somewhere?!? It could also be dodgy HT leads, spark plugs etc etc etc. If you try the MAF sensor first that is a good place to start. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
