Super_Shaun
Just a quick question with probably a simple answer. Why when fitting a 2.0 mondy engine to a 1.6/1.8 escort do we have to use the 1.8 water pump etc??Im looking a throwing a 2.0 into my MK4 Escort and Im unsure why/if I would need all those 1.8 parts Im led to belive I have to have??Or could I just use a 2.0 mondy engine and rad? Trig
we use a 1.8 water pump because the wheel is spun the opposite way on the mondeo so your coolant system wouldnt flow properly. I used the escort themostat to make sure it would all be original too. I also used the 1.8 inlet manifold as it is exactly the same as the 2.0, just mine has never had an EGR fitted so the inlet isnt coked up
sortedford
my advice is to use a 1.8 oil pump too, can fit normal size filters on then
Trig
my advice is to use a 1.8 oil pump too, can fit normal size filters on then good idea, ive left the normal oil pump on and had to fit a smaller filter which is a pain in the arse to fit.
