fuel pressure regulator, is one needed ?

after building my turbo zetec im haveing some starting problems,

 

just wanted to ask a question, would the car run without a fuel pressure regulator? or even attempt to fire?

 

i ask because the one i had i sold about 5 months back, dident think i needed it, was told i might need a cosworth one.

 

anyone shed some light please.

also was told what drifters do in japan is block the fuel return up as this it will pressure to over 3 bar,

yea u can on the zetec fuel rail mate , just mate sure ur car aint over fuelin and theres in open wires next 2 the injectors , as mates turbo'ed focus found out was funny tho, not a big fire

did your mate, block his return up then? what happned did he blow his engine crashandburn125?

yes mate got some cowboy company 2 do a turbo convestion on his 1.6 focus, the custom fuel rail was blocked for more pressure, but they left some of the wires loose, and fuel rail wasnt custom it was shitly made, got a leak down the motorway, so a little fire happend, if ur gona use ur zetec one it will be fine, just dont do it on the pushin type injector rails mate
