Wheel Spacers....

Thought i might aswell fit wheel spacers to the rear of my car while its un-operative.

As i was fitting them, i put the stud extentions on then the actual spacer. The centre hole on the spacer mated perfectly with the cars hub.

Then I put the wheel onto the spacer and noticed when mating them up, both surfaces were flat. So nothing on the spacer was taking the weight of the wheel.

I tightened everything up and im currently hoping for the best....... But actually how safe is this?

They were obviously designed like that, but i dont think its right somehow.

1- do you mean you hammered some new exteneded studs in?

2. how do you mean both surfaces are flat spacer taking no weight?

if you mean what i think you do the wieght is tramsitted through the studs to the hubs to the suspension

its hard to tell, either way, it'll be fine, if you are pooing your pants you cna get hub centic spacers which mimic the centre bore

Thanks guys, the extentions are the screw on type, over the existing studs. Hubcentric must be the word i was looking for. The spacers are "hubcentric" to the hub, but the wheels are not been supported by anything on the spacers, just the studs....

So is the final conclusion that this is safe? Bearing in mind the spacers are probably a good inch and half wide.....
