sortedford
id go with wd40, and a wire brush
Ex-Finesse
No WD-40 / any other lubricant / wire brush will solve this mate, sorry. The difference of metals between the ring and the shock thread has caused corrosion and they are fused together to a certain degree. If you cant turn it, all I can think of is to strip the unit down. Use spring compressors, and undo the assembly from the top, stripping it right down so u just have the main strut tube left with the corroded ring on it. Replace those 2 components, then reassemble. Easier said than done though mate. Unfortunately, adjustable race car suspension is meant for one place, the race track, and is not designed for road conditions without frequent servicing. Many companies will fail to mention this when you're about to order your £500 to £1k coilover suspension.. though.
sortedford
mine freed up fine with wd40 and a wire brush, gentral brushing hasnt damaged any of the thread, and made it very easy to adjust.put a spray greese on after setting it, which doesnt dissolve like wd40, then my covers ontop
L5 DOV
it dose move just, but i have to put a huge power bar on the end of the adjusting spanner to get it to move. no ideal as it takes ages about an hour for 4 turns infact and i have to take the unit off the car. is there anyway that it could have moved on the thread or that? dose ne1 know if i can buy the adjusting ring on its own and where i am likly to find this. thank you for all the help so far keep it coming. Ex-Finesse
You're not accidently forgetting to undo the grub screw, are you? If you can give it 4 turns, it should be mostly free by then!
