Teribus
Hi all! I've not been on EVO for a while. Mostly because I don't come online as much now, so when I do I tend to hide on FFOC (owning a Focus and all, it seems a logical place to be). Anyway, those that remember me will remember my old car: a white 1995 MK6 Escort TD Ghia which I owned for 8 months or so. Was the worst purchase I ever made. Not that Escorts are bad cars; my fiancée's mum has a TD finesse and that's been a good car; but the Escort I bought was a real lemon and hiding some dark secrets I'd suspect. Anyway, this was my old Escort (links due to picture limit): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...t/170804no4.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...t/170804no1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...t/170804no8.jpg Anyway, that was traded in for a Focus. These are the pics that you see in my signature. And these are the pics taken the day the car arrived (links due to picture limit): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_0603.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_0604.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_0609.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_0611.jpg I promised myself I'd keep it standard. I'd buy some clear indicators and side repeaters and that was it. But the modding bug has bitten hard with me, and here's how my car currently stands (some pics taken from it's first show outing, standing on the FFOC stand at the Fast & Modified show at Ingliston's Highland show ground in Edinburgh, on Sunday 16th July 2006){some are links due to picture limit} http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_1763.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_2135.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...ocus/pedals.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...ocus/stereo.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_0838.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/Ter...us/100_0985.jpg Just to prove I'm not Bling MK2, here's me perched on the bonnet: Spec list for my car: ENGINE1,753cc Direct injection Turbo diesel, with a K&N panel air filter EXTERIORMY 1999 Ford Focus Zetec 5-door hatchback shell. It's powered by a 1.8 litre Endura-DI engine, which is extremely reliable. This car has knocked up over 172,000 miles and is heading quickly towards 173,000! This alone makes the car that bit more special, in my eyes, since typically cars of such high mileage do not look as good as this one does. Also, yes, it's another white car. My third of three! Anyway, your opinions on the car are welcomed. Good and bad. Thanks in advance -T

AndyC[GB]
Tasty car mate.A friend had one of these cars from RAC.Lovely engine and pull like anything. I'm quite a fan of Deisel Turb's they are great for economy. How many miles had the car done when you picked it up? And is your rear bumper a slightly different colour white in that pick? Might just be the light / shaddow or something.
Teribus
I gotta be honest, there are a few different shades of white on there. 5-year old paint beside new stuff: And a few different types of new stuff! For example, the rear bumper was painted with Halfords rattle cans. The colour coded bits were done by a bodyshop. The front bumper was painted using 2-pack paint. None of it really matches 100%, but that's all on my to-do list. I'm hoping to get a few of the imperfections ironed out (dings that have been there since purchase, bubbles, etc.) in the future. However, I'm currently saving for a stainless steel exhaust (which I need before October, as the current exhaust probably won't pass an MoT! 172,000 miles have taken their toll on it, too!) I bought the car in October 2004 with 126,970 miles on the clock, and have added over 45,500 miles to it since then. Car has been reliable, never let me down. Yes, it's had to be repaired once or twice, but nothing that's stopped it going. Things like a leaking injector pipe, a burst turbo hose. Nothing extremely serious! There are two variants of turbo diesel in the Focus. Mine is the older direct injection TDDi, but there's also the common-rail TDCi. My TDDi pushes out 90bhp, whereas the TDCi comes in 100 and 115bhp versions. But as with everything, that extra go comes with it's downsides, but I won't go there! Thanks for the comments. Car seems to get positive reactions everywhere. heck, I even have my own little fan club over on FFOC: people who love white cars and particularly like what I've done to mine! Can't complain at that for a high mileage diesel -T

Teribus
cargy LOL! Now you mention it, yeah it does. That guy spent a lot of the day cleaning his car, then keeping it clean. I didn't bother with mine: I was up until 10pm cleaning and polishing mine the night before. It got the dead flies washed off the front at the show then left for people to admire Andy - Your eyes definitely aren't going south, I'd say your eyesight was excellent if you managed to spot a difference in colour! I certainly can't! lol. As I keep saying: "SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE TO SPECSAVERS!!". Put it this way, I won't be going back. Shoddy glasses that keep coming apart and my eyesight has gotten worse since getting them -T

BlairM
Hey mate long time no see! The Focus looks mean as fcuk now from the front, nice one indeed. It's pretty awesome it's got 147k on the clock. Even though it's a TD most people would right a car off at that condition good on ya for doing it.

Most people would do, but I know of one that managed to knock up nearly 300k while still looking excellent! I also have faith in diesels As this one has proved, 172,000 and it's still going well, never fails to start, and doesn't even knock as much as some other diesels! Can't say fairer than that Thanks It does look a bit mean. Could be meaner, I have seen meaner, but it's mean enough for me -T
