sutty2006
If I remove the cat and put a straight through pipe on what kind of BHP increace will i get?
Craig855S
im not sure u'd get any on a zetec,ur sposed to get 10% but i dont believe it. I PERSONALLy recomend u get a sports cat (Ebay have brand new sports cat build for civics but witha bit of flange altering they fit any car and only 50 quid too)
Ex-Finesse
Nothing, it's not restrictive. You'll gain noise and hassle when it comes round to MOT time.
Craig855S
the cats not restrictive? now that confuses me? i thought the reason u dont see a gain is because u lose too much backpressure, some back pressure is needed but not as much as ford gave it.So get a freeer flowing cat by all means but complete removal will lose all back pressure
85rob
you'll gain more noise and it'll free the revs up a bit from 4k ish

HoldTilSold_co_uk
sometimes you can loose bhp as proven in a ford mag a while back.its got to be re-mapped with the cat out
RobMk6
how do u expect to remap a std ecu, best bet is to do it then leave the battery off overnight
theresa
everything else jus gives noise Doesn't even give noise on my Fiesta No difference at all, noise, performance, nothing. As to be expected on a Zetec really

foxdie
how do u expect to remap a std ecu,Some specialists, namely Ahmed Bayjoo, can remap EEC-IV. Unfortunately i wouldn't let any guy named after a character from the jungle book touch my car, no matter how highly rated he is. Your unlikely to recieive any power gains, a normally aspirated engine (like the zetec) requires a degree of back pressure. Removing the cat from the exhaust will make the car breatheless and lathargic. On a turbo car its a different story entirely. Persoanlly i would get a Miltek sports CAT instead. High degree of flow without the complete removal of pressure.
