AndyC[GB]
On some of zetecs the air inlet goes over the top of the spark plug cover/rocker cover and then around and down to the side..Wouldnt the heat from the engine heat up the air and make it more dense? Hence less air can be put into the cylinder and less power produced? Its just iv seen some that go around the top of the engine and some like i'v just explained.Anyone know if it makes any difference? Cheers AndyC
Ex-Finesse
Given the speed of the air travelling through the inlet system, I don't think it has an impact. The early / late engines are of course identical apart from this inlet route change, producing same power, so obviously doesnt affect them
Rob84
hot air is lense dense btw
Craig855S
hot air = less dense so less power. I think it affects the temps but only by a tiny tiny bit, only one way to truly tell and thats to seal a digital thermometer just infront of the throttle body on two otherwise identical engines and see if the over the rocker ones hotter
AndyC[GB]
I stand corrected I dont think that i shall go to those sort of extremes to test it but i was just wondering
wizard101sco
Hi all, I have one of the zetecs and wondered best way to change the route of the air to the throttle body?Reason is, I am planning one of the spark plug covers but seems a waste if your only going to see a wee bit of it either side. Cheers
