Stu
The two guys who created megasquirt obviously do not want it used for any commercial purposes, so I refuse to work with it as their "morals" do not fit with professionalism..
Graeme
so what are the alternatives now then?
Stu
so what are the alternatives now then? There are a lot of other aftermarket ECU's.. most live in the £500 price region.. the only one i'm really happy with is Pectel T2.. but it costs about £1200 including a new proper wiring loom.. a price that I don't think many people would be interested in paying for relatively small gains on a n/a escort! Turbo boys, sure, worth every penny.. There are a couple of new managements out there, one that is gaining popularity is "gotech", but I think that costs about a grand too.. I'll still map Megasquirt if someone really wants it.. I'm just pissed off with them right now
AndyC[GB]
Tis a real shame that Stu.After reading your turbo guide and this thread i had only just realised that turbo'ing was within my price range.Although that was with a 500 quid ECU and mapping session.Dont think i could spend a grand upwards on an ECU and then pay 500 quid for a map! Cant see why megasquirt have done this?Would have been a good setup on there behalf.

I no longer get any support from the Megasquirt folk due to a disagreement, so I wouldn't want to be performing in a limited capacity. There are other options.. fiesta turbo management.. cossie management.. other crap like omex, gotech, whatevertech.. I'll still supply and map megasquirt for folk.. it's not a problem

Oh you can still buy it.. but if you have any kind of commercial purpose for it, they consider it "against the spirit of the project".. so basically theres nothing stopping me mapping a car on MS, then that person taking my maps and giving them to all his/her mates, or even selling them..
