4eyes
Hey all! I'm currently saving up for me 2nd escort (my old one was a mk6, was written off after another driver swerved into my side of the road about 2 car lengths in front of me!!!). I've had loads of ideas from browsing this site - want a 98/99 car as a replacement with low mileage (another 1.6 zetec cos i'm 18) and i want those rs7 spoke wheels (the ones with the blue ford badge, not the RS badged ones) on it with GTi springs/shocks (standard Ford ones). Does anyone have the model number for these? Would be appreciated. Ta,Tom
Trig
Welcome to evo. there isnt anything different with the gti shocks to the rest of the mk6 escort family. and I think you might mean the rs7 softline wheels. best bet is ebay for getting bargains

4eyes
Trig, I was lead to believe that the GTi sits 25mm lower than the rest of the mk6 escorts! Thanks Andy, do u have a rough price in mind? I'm going to be doing 21k a year so im looking for a car with about 40/50k on the clock - and no i dont want a diesel! I think they are called softlines, the wheels im after. Do they fit the escort and get through an mot no probs? I've seen a few finesse's with them on, were they an option at all? Would mean that i do not have to declare them if they were. Would i need spacers or anything? I had a quick look through the alloys section of the board but found no specific answers.

Trig
the RS2000 is the one that sits lower, the GTi has standard stuff on Im afraid, which is the reason why im loking for some new suspension. cannings car has replacement dials in as the standard ones were black and he upgraded to white so they dont show the true mileage, but his car doesnt do many miles so it wont be a high miler

Kirsty
first of all... welcome to evo Trig, I was lead to believe that the GTi sits 25mm lower than the rest of the mk6 escorts! 4eyes
Thanks for that info Kirsty, I'm on a bit of a tight budget being 18, so when I've got the car I'm going to put 16" Mondy's on it with 30mm Eibach springs on standard dampers (they are designed for standard dampers). What do you all think to that?
