Ex-Finesse
Thanks for the pics Marcia and Neil, look absolute quality!!! Again, a quality day, but didn't feel as complete as old Ford Fairs have, for me. I think it's because of my track time - I left the stand at 10.30 to go to my briefing, after spending an hour prepping the car, and didn't get back and parked up until 12.30. The time in between sessions was spent swapping HT leads (thanks Jimbo!! ) in an attempt to rid the car of a fairly random miss it had, which was worse on the track I think I was trying pretty hard out there.... I had fuel surge a few times on my 2nd session, on the same corner... a hairpin right I also melted the areas around the tread on my Yoko A539s!!! I seemed to be able to catch most of the cossies and other cars in the braking areas and through some of the chicane sections.... well happy Had some fun with this Capri 3.0 that was out for both my sessions, overtook him both times, and pulled a decent lead on the 2nd!! I think both my final session was in the expert category though, as virtually all the cars were cossies, or turbo'd. Used up a quarter of a tank out there... so the whole tank did 218 miles to 42litres, ALL motorway, bar the track sessions! Had 2 "moments" out there... one worse than the other! Worst was on my first session, braked late going into the right after Pit Straight, and the back came out on me, which I havent ever managed to do since owning this car! I honestly thought I'd lost it, as I was doing about 90mph at the time, but a bit of corrective steering and it was fine.. Mucho thanks to everyone who watched me!! Tidykart - what were you in mate? Ben & Muzz - the bloke in the Fiesta ST we were with around M25 / M1 came up to congratulate me on keeping up with him, and ask what the hell I'd done to the car, whilst I was queuing for my first session Nice to meet Dans GTi and Caroline! Think they were the only new people I met! And of course great to see everyone else
