Big Tim Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 its probabliy been asked before but this time its on the behalf of my sister...is there an adapter that you can use so you can actually get a cd player in there instead of the standard brick and how much and where can they be obtained from and are they easy to fit.. Thanks in advance Tims sis
Mk6 Si Ross Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Halfords do it, think it was around a tenner, could be a little bit more, can`t remember.
Lee R Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Also, Ford sell them, cheaper than Halfords I think
Evv Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 halford do one for 10then if ur removing the brick and putting a thin cd plan in ur need a facial which is 12 quid and then a cage to hold the cd player in whihc i cant remember i think it was 15 just make sure u get the right one (year + model)
fat_boz Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Facia= Halfords for about 10-12 quid i think wire adaptor???= halford again.. funny that
McRic Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 facia cost me 15 i think facia direct from Ford only cost 3-4 quid for the mk 6 more if you want the kit though
Redsquirrel Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 when i put my cd player in, what i did was take the plastic "rail" of the ford radio and attach it to my cd player so it could use the rail. all seems cool to me.
Flat_Steve Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Yeah it's called an ISA adaptor. Halfords will have one for a mk6 Escort...
McRic Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Yeah it's called an ISA adaptor. Halfords will have one for a mk6 Escort... is it not ISO connector mate ISA is a savings account
Jordan Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Whats all this adapter stuff? From what I can remember I just took out the Ford stereo, got a £12 facia from Halfords, then put my CD Player in the facia and then the facia in the hole. Am I meant to have an adapter? Jordan
Stormin_1.6_auto_WRC Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 nah your ok jordan, its called lots of things, a facia, an adapter plate allsorts. Its just something that allows you to fit a single din (normal size) stereo into a double din (the size of late ford stereos) and so it looks normal
Jordan Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Thought so Stormin_1.6_auto_WRC Got your PM too mate, not sure if Im in town this weekend, had a bit of trouble on Saturday with some Northern T*at Also got spoken to by the :pig: about that murder last week Jordan
