Dunk Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 they r good aint they. I am tempted. get 2 of em, but i reckon if u spent a few hours on it u could do it urself. and get 12" ers in there too!!!
Mk6 Si Ross Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 the fact that they moulded to boot shape makes em a tempting option doesn`t it???!!!!

JonC Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 im way busy with work at the moment and the weather is shite. when it gets better im gonna do the method my mate down the local ice outlet told me, step 1 Cover the selected side of boot in sliver foil and tack it to the carpet with little blobs of silicone or sticky stuffstep 2Mix up fiberglass resin and hardener smother the area selected with it and then stick sheets of woven fiberglass onto the resin, building up layers untill its at least 4mm thickhe reckons approx 20£ for fiberglass and sheets of woven stuffstep 3Leave to hardenstep 4Peel the stuff away out of the car including the foilstep 5Attach front onto the fiberglass and build up sides and front of mdf box, making sure hole is made for sub and hole is made for speaker terminal connectionsstep 6Fix together with small screws, seal with bathroom sealer from the inside and make sure it is airtightstep 7Smooth outside down, stick carpet onto box with spray gluestep 8Insert sub and speaker terminals solder wire in between the twostep 9Fit in car and laugh at all the people who spent 160£ and ended up with same item proberbly half a days work and a bit of clever planning/woodwork skills
