mr_b Posted February 27, 2003 Author Posted February 27, 2003 is it the same as category C and D insurance write off? Damaged but repairable? yes but what do they mean which one means the car is worse? is a cat C in worse condition than a cat d ?
900ss Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 A is scrap (burnouts, slaughtered stuff etc) where no parts are deemed salvageable B is breaker C is repairable (moderate to heavy damage)D is repairable (can be no damage to medium) but depending on the value of the car it may still need a shell yet be a Cat D
Rich Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 (edited) i think C is, from my hpi "Category C insurance loss, Vehicle extensively damaged but repairable" Also should point out that write off are not necessarily damaged in any major way, often cossmetic only. It can be a case of financial issues relating to the vehicle. Edited February 27, 2003 by Rich
