JC
Cheers!Next is getting the car back from the garage where it was recovered to last wednesday.... with "suspension" problems! The seats i'm really pleased with from my local breakersHave got side skirts to add, genuine ford which have been painted by a body shop and look mint! They took a little longer than i thought as they discovered they were a little scratched, so had to have a lot of prep to get them done properly! Rather poor at the moment as just had it serviced and insurance..... but eventually want to sort the audio out properly when sorted out a few more little cosmetic things Edited May 1, 2011 by Lordjc

Lamb
them mudflaps are best ones and are not CHAVYpersonally endorsed by Lamb, no way they cant be chav ...... considered they suit the car, looks good and few motors have them and they suit nicely thread is meant to be about lordjc car and i made a positive comment so Edited September 30, 2007 by Lamb
JC
Thanks Dubs & Lamb, Did toy with the idea of some other body kits, but needed larger alloys to pull them off, and as its my daily runner sticking wth 15"..... Plus decided that i liked the GTi kit alot, and its cheap and cheerfull! I like the mudflaps and think the blue goes with the silver Going off topic has the "milf-hunter-mobil" worked yet?!!! (just noticed that lol) Edited September 30, 2007 by Lordjc
Hezz
think that big RS badges on the flaps are waaaay overboard on a nicely subtley styled 5 door non RS car. even leer's old estate didnt have them on when it had evo stickers on it and that was a fast / powerful rs engined car i just dont want young children laughing at it as it pootles down the street

JC
Ahhh hear what your saying Hezz, that makes more sense than looks chavy! They were a bargin at £10 and decided to use them as needed some that fitted round the spats, the pic of them shows them before there were fitted, so are higher up and less in your face! They were cheaper than black ones! Edited September 30, 2007 by Lordjc

JC
i like ur white digi dials. Thanks, out a puma, straight swap Also got my electric wing mirrors fitted. Right pain as discovered my car for some reason has the base model wiring in the door so was stripped out and re wired using a wiring loom from an LX. Think i may post a how to guide on that as lots of people ask how to fit them etc. when i get a chance as took some pics and have the wiring diagrams and straight forward when you know how! http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00478.jpghttp://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00477.jpg
JC
Right thought i'd add some more pics of my progress... though some of ya have seen them already! Weekend after had my car back after a little accident got to work with getting my skirts on... Had checked they fitted fine before i sent them to the paint shop, and before anyone says anything, they were only on for 5mins, wasn't driving round like that! http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00472.jpg so mate and I jacked the car up on axel stands, and took the wheels off, how it looked sad: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00495.jpg Used a flat headed screw driver to pop the rubber seal out from the sill like so: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00497.jpg Drilled holes on the ends of the sills, and painted with hammerite, wasn't too neat as isnt going to be seen: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00498.jpg Random pic of my new suspension arm and link curtosy of a little accident: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00496.jpg Drilled a few holes along the top of the sill and bottom, lining up with the holes in the skirts. The ones on the bottom were a paint as wasnt too much room to fit a drill under happily. Each hole was treated with some hammerite to seal up the cut to the metal: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00502.jpg I laid the skirts down on a sheet and old curtian while applying the tiger seal, to prevent any scratches. I used some large bolts either end and self tapping screws along the top and bottom, using a little blob of silicone sealant onto each to seal them in. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00503.jpg how it looked the next day after a little clean, (flaps arent fitted properly yet): http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSCF1050.jpg (uploading more pics)
JC
More pics with skirts on: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSCF1044.jpg dunno why but i like this pic: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSCF1045.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSCF1052.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSCF1057.jpg since those have been taken done lots more to it, and got nicely painted side strips now, as those above are not quite a good enough match! Also got a new splitter to replace the broken one!
